The Mawj Story
Mawj for Research and Development was established at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) with a mission to revolutionize maritime operations through autonomous innovation. Our journey began with a clear understanding of the diverse challenges facing our oceans, from environmental degradation to security threats and the need for smarter coastal engagement. This led us to develop a versatile technological core capable of powering a multi purpose fleet of autonomous vessels.
Our technical excellence is demonstrated through two primary pillars: protection and surveillance. We developed the Mawj Navigator, a mobile laboratory dedicated to real time microplastic detection and water quality monitoring, ensuring environmental sustainability. Complementing this is the Mawj Guardian, a stealth, semi submersible platform designed for maritime security. This system provides a low signature solution for detecting illegal fishing and environmental violations, empowering authorities with AI driven coastal oversight.
Beyond protection, Mawj is redefining the maritime experience through The Floating Ambassador. This innovative platform operates as a smart marine guide, blending autonomous navigation with interactive digital hospitality. Equipped with high definition smart screens, it offers tourists and visitors an immersive cultural and informational experience. By integrating tourism with technology, we are supporting Qatar's position as a global destination for smart and sustainable coastal leisure.
